Right from the start, it was clear to us at Local Brand X that we not only wanted to invest in the future with our system, but also in relation to our employees. As an IHK-certified training company, we train an IT specialist (m / f / d) every year in the field of application development and thus bring a breath of fresh air and new ideas to the team. As a startup in Mainz, it is important to us to invest in the next generation of IT and to pass on our knowledge.
What is an apprenticeship at Local Brand X? We are a young, dynamic team that works together on our software solutions. With our product, the Local Marketing Platform, we try to support companies and facilitate marketing processes. In addition to our development team, we also have employees in sales, customer service and marketing. We want everyone in our team to feel comfortable and therefore not only offer flexible working hours and home office options, but also various training measures or workshops. As a trainee, you are not one of many with us. We consciously train one IT specialist for each year of training and concentrate fully on you and your potential. Even as a beginner, you are already a full team member with us and can contribute your ideas.
Also this year we are looking for a new team member on August 1st, 2021. During your training as an IT specialist in application development, you will deal with software development for 3 years and work on our system. In this way, you can already learn during your training what needs real customers have, where problems lie and how these are solved by our development team. You can put the theoretical content of your training directly into practice and learn to find your way around in everyday work.
So that you can better imagine what an apprenticeship at Local Brand X really is like, we asked someone who should know. Julian was our first apprentice in 2018 and is currently about to take his final exam:
Julian, can you still remember why you applied to Local Brand X back then?
Yes, that was because I thought the company was really cool and because it's a startup too. I was also immediately well received at the interview and I liked the fact that there is a flat hierarchy here and that many young people also work here. I also find the Local Marketing Platform itself very interesting and immediately impressed me. That's why I chose Local Brand X.
How was the training for you and how could Local Brand X support you?
I found the apprenticeship very, very interesting and has definitely brought me further and will also accompany me on my way. I've learned a lot and will probably be able to use it in the future as well. Local Brand X supported me with the daily tasks, as I always got help from the developers or other colleagues. And generally through the daily process, in which I was always able to learn something new and have been given new tasks, that helped me advance.
What do you like most about Local Brand X and what makes the company so special?
As I said, I like the flat hierarchies and the friendly atmosphere among colleagues. I think it's a bit stricter in other companies, but personally I just find it nicer.
What would you advise new applicants to do?
I would acquire more prior knowledge, but otherwise: just do it! It is definitely a very good apprenticeship.
Local Brand X is always very interested in keeping good employees. Some of our permanent employees already worked at Local Brand X during their studies and were taken on by the working student as permanent positions.
We currently employ not only two trainees (in different years of apprenticeship), but also several working students. If an apprenticeship is not the right one for you or if you are already studying, you can also find out more about our job offers for working students. Instead of training as an IT specialist, it is also possible to complete a dual degree in management & IT, digital media or computer science. We work together with universities in the region.
