A new training year starts and we welcome Juan to Local Brand X
As an IHK certified training company, we have brought support on board for the further development of the local marketing platform just in time for the new training year. We welcome Juan to our team, who has recently started his three-year training as an IT specialist for application development at Local Brand X.
Training as an IT specialist for application development
In the future, Juan will help us optimize the system and develop new customer solutions, while expanding his theoretical and practical knowledge. In a short interview, we asked him a few questions about his decision to train and his first impressions of the team.
Hi Juan, welcome to the team! Tell us why you decided to train as an IT specialist for application development.
Since I was a child and my father bought a computer, I was immediately impressed by the technology. At first I was mainly interested in computer games, but over time I also wanted to know more and more about how a computer actually works and what's behind it. After graduating from high school, I bought a very comprehensive book about the C++ programming language. After reading a few pages, I realized that I understand absolutely nothing about it. *laughs*
A few YouTube videos finally helped me understand more about the topic. I started studying computer science in Argentina and started a job in this field.
When I came to Germany five years ago, I initially had difficulties with the German language and did many other jobs that I actually didn't enjoy. But I never lost my enthusiasm for the computer industry. I finally decided to pursue my interests again, completed online courses and exchanged ideas with people who are also interested in application development. In the end, I decided to train in this area and I'm really excited to see what's in store for me.
What is your first impression of the team?
I have had a very positive impression of the team so far. I met Jonas' dog right on my second day at the office. I love dogs! So I think it's really great that we sometimes have a dog visit the office. I also like the fact that there is no dress code and that you can simply come to work in clothes that make you feel comfortable. The entire atmosphere in the team generally feels very familiar and I really enjoy going to work.
What do you enjoy most about working at Local Brand X so far?
What I like the most is that I can learn so many new things. Even though I've already come into contact with some things, it's a good opportunity to dive deeper into the topics and expand my knowledge. When it comes to developing, I particularly enjoy designing and being able to find concrete solutions to problems. Of course, working as a developer can sometimes be a bit frustrating if certain things can't be implemented as you would like. But I quickly realized that there is virtually no bad mood at Local Brand X and that there is always a lot of laughter. I think that's great!
I am currently mainly working on courses and exercises to better understand the topics. In the future, I will then work on small projects and contribute to the further development of the local marketing platform. I'm already looking forward to that.
