A QR code or Quick Response Code is a two-dimensional, graphic code in which digital contents can be stored. By scanning the QR code, the user is directed to a landing page. QR codes are an integral part of bridge technologies that link print and digital. For example, users can scan the QR code of a print ad and engage more intensively with the campaign.

A QR code consists of a square matrix that is code-specifically filled with black and white squares. These represent the encoded data. Since QR codes are very error resistant, they are a commonly used tool for encoding data.
