IP address

An Internet Protocol address, also known as an IP address, is a uniquely identifiable series of numbers. Each device has at least one IP address that can be used to recognize and track computers or smartphones. The IP address identifies the sender and receiver during digital data transmission. This gives the IP address for computers about the same importance as the phone number on phones. In most cases, devices have two IP addresses, one of which makes the device identifiable on the home network. The other IP address, also known as the Internet IP address, is re-assigned by the providers as often as desired and usually changes every night. By IPv4 standard, most IP addresses consist of a maximum of twelve digits, each grouped in triplets separated by periods, for example, 192.5.869.10. Since only a limited number of IP addresses can be generated with the IPv4 standard, the IPv6 standard was additionally introduced. In this, an IP address consists of 32 numbers or letters, which are each grouped in groups of four. Quads that are all zeros can be replaced by colons.

An example of this would be the following IP address: fe74: 1068.13: 927: 3. To determine your own IP address, there are two options. If you want to determine the home network IP address, you can do this via the input request of the computer or the router. To view the Internet IP address, you will find on the Internet specially designed sites that can identify them. Domains also have their own IP address. These form the basis for the exchange of data on the Internet and are absolutely static, so never change.
