The frontend is the part of a website that is visible to users and in which they act. All public content presented is displayed in the frontend, as well as content visible only to logged in members. Colloquially, the frontend is also referred to as a user interface. Only the input of content in the backend makes it possible for users to access them in the frontend.

Various programming languages can be added to the frontend with different functions that go beyond the mere presentation of content. This includes, for example, the integration of live chats, links to social media or the embedding of advertising material. Make websites that provide always new information in a short period of time, have an automatic update function in the front end. Examples include live ticker or certain social media services.
